    The Holy Bible

The first book profiled in our Reading Corner just had to be the Holy Bible! There is no greater book ever written! We can’t even begin to feature the glories of the Bible in just one blog post, so instead we’ll focus on online and mobile Bible resources that are available for free. These resources feature many versions of the Bible, but we recommend the New King James Version (NKJV). It’s accurate and maintains the legacy of the King James Version, but without the thee’s and thou’s.
    Reading the Bible online:
Biblegateway is our go-to website for reading the Bible online. It’s free and includes keyword search and many other great features.
    Mobile Apps:
We love the YouVersion Bible app. It’s free and is available for Android, iPhone, Windows, and Blackberry. This app has a Verse of the Day, and includes archives of previous Verses of the Day. You can sort the books of the Bible alphabetically or in the standard order. Once you select a book, you can jump to a specific chapter, and then specific verse. One feature that we particularly love about the YouVersion app is that you can highlight a specific verse you’re reading (or multiple verses) and then share the verse via any other app you have (text message, email, Twitter, etc.) or copy the verse directly to the clipboard.

Peace for the Storm Quotes - Thy Light Shall Guide Me

I grew up singing the hymn “Give Me the Bible,” but recently this song has taken on a new significance for me. I’m currently reading a book that discusses how most people in the Middle Ages did not have access to the Holy Scriptures. Since the December 2 incident, I have been depending so much on the Bible. Passages I’ve read before have taken on a whole new meaning now. I’m so grateful that I live in a day and age when I have the Bible in my own language! What a blessing!

Give me the Bible, holy message shining,
Thy light shall guide me in the narrow way.
Precept and promise, law and love combining,
‘Til night shall vanish in eternal day.
